Mrs. Clara Marie Stallworth, 58, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at a local hospital. She was a native of Brewton and a resident of Brewton. She attended Southern Normal High School and Pella College in Iowa. She had been employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She is survived by two sons, John Arthur (Adell) Brown Jr. of Marietta, Ga., and Andre' Cortez Brown of Brewton; her parents, Clarence and Gazella Stallworth of Brewton; a sister, Jerrie Dean Stallworth of Brewton; two grandchildren, AuBriana Brown of Topeka, and Ahmaud Brown of Saginaw, Texas; five aunts, Edna East, Gussie Harris, Pearl Stallworth and Lillie Hendrieth, all of Brewton, and Clemenitine Richards of Mesa, Ariz.; three uncles, Mark Hendrieth and John Harris, both of Brewton, and Adam Bradley of Mariana, Ga.; one nephew, Shawn Stallworth of Brewton; a best friend, Elaine Askew of Brewton; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 5, at 1 p.m. at Greater Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton, with the Rev. William Brown officiating. Burial followed at Springhill Cemetery in Brewton.
