In their first area game of the season, the T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team split against Bayside Friday night in Daphne.
With the split, the Tigers improved their record to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in area play. With the loss in game two, the Tigers lost the tiebreaker to Bayside.
If the Tigers lose to Bayside on April 3, Bayside will have the tiebreaker of the Tigers with both teams being 1-1 against each other.
The Tigers were set to travel to Escambia County High School on Tuesday to play the Blue Devils.
The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday, March 19 with a double header at home against Cottage Hill.
Game one:
T.R. Miller 11,
Bayside 2
In game one against Bayside, the Tigers scored in four of the seven innings and held Bayside to only two runs to win 11-2 over the Admirals.
T.R. Miller scored two runs in the first inning and three runs in the third, fourth and sixth to earn the win.
Bayside scored two runs in the third inning.
Corey Rilling and John Mathieu led the Tigers at the plate. Rilling and Mathieu were both 2-for-3 with tow RBIs and a double.
Sam Sharpe was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a double.
Wes Dickey was 2-for-4 with one RBI and a triple.
Conner Denton was 2-for-3 and Trent Robinson was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Grant DeFrancisco was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Sharpe pitched the Tigers to the win.
He went the complete game and allowed five hits, two walks and struck out seven in the win.
Game two:
Bayside 11,
T.R. Miller 10
T.R. Miller rallied from being down 8-2 in the fourth inning to getting seven runs in the fifth inning to lead 9-8. They  held a 10-8 lead in the sixth inning but fell to three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to lose 11-10.
The loss dropped the Tigers to 3-5 overall.
Bayside scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second and third innings, three in the fourth and sixth innings to get the win.
John Mathieu, Corey Rilling and Stephen Warren all pitched in the loss for the Tigers.
Warren took the loss on the mound.
Mathieu allowed five runs in the three innings, Rilling allowed two in three innings and Warren allowed three in one inning.
The pitching trio walked eight, hit four and had seven unearned runs.
Dickey and Sharpe led the Tigers at the plate. Dickey was 2-for-4 with one RBI and Sharpe was 2-for-4 with one RBI and a double.
Denton was 1-for-4, Caleb McAnally was 1-for-3 with one RBI, Riling was 1-for-5.
