JD Warhawk baseball drops two against Chattahoochee

In a three-game road series conference game at Chattahoochee Valley, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team went 1-2 to drop their record to 10-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
JDCC lost 17-4 in game one, won game two 10-9 before losing game three 6-4.
JDCC was set to take on conference foe Alabama Southern on Friday and Saturday.
Game one: CVCC 17, JDCC 4
In game one against Chattahoochee Valley, JDCC gave up 11 runs in the sixth inning to fall 17-4 to drop to 9-10 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
JDCC held a 4-1 lead in the top of the fifth before Chatt-Valley scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to hold a 6-4 lead and then scored 11 in the sixth inning to get the 13-run win.
Chatt-Valley had 16 hits in the win to JDCC’s nine.
Ryne Phillips was 2-for-3 with a homerun and one RBI. Reid Wynn was 1-for-2 with one RBI and a double.
Harry Haring was 2-for-4 with one RBI and Cody Sanderson was 1-for-4.
Terry McClain was 2-for-3 and Ben Blodgett was 1-for-2 in the loss.
Blake Long added an RBI in the loss.
Michael Clay was the losing pitcher for the Warhawks. Clay allowed five earned runs on six hits in four innings. Clay walked three and struck out three in the loss.
Derek Lowry went 1 1/3 inning and allowed eight earned runs (nine total) on seven hits, and walked one.
Andrew Favant went 2/3 of an inning and allowed three earned runs on two hits, walked one and struck out two.
Game two: JDCC 10, CVCC 9
Trailing 7-2 after the fifth inning, the Warhawks scored five runs in the sixth inning and two in the eighth and one in the ninth to claim a 10-9 win and even their record at 10-10 and improve to 3-2 in conference play.
Derek Young took the win on the mound for the Warhawks. He went six innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits, walked one and struck out one.
Michael King relieved Young and went three innings and allowed seven earned runs, walked four and struck out four in the win.
Sanderson led JDCC at the plate as he was 5-for-6 with a double and two RBIs.
Cody Turner was 2-for-6 with two doubles and three RBIs.
Phillips was 3-for-5 with two doubles with one RBI.
Sean Little was 1-for-2 with one RBI and C.J. Lindsey was 2-for-5 with one RBI.
Hunter Norris was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Long added one RBI.
Game three: CVCC 6, JDCC 4
In the rubber match of the series, JDCC fell to 10-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play with a 6-4 loss.
Chattahoochee scored four runs in the first inning and one in the second to hold a 5-0 lead through three innings.
JDCC scored three in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 5-3, but CVCC answered with one in the fourth to hold a 6-3 lead.
JDCC added one runs in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 6-4, but that was as close as JDCC would get as the lost by two.
Ben Negus was 1-for-2 in the loss and Sanderson was 1-for-3 with a homerun and one RBI.
Wynn was 1-for-3 with a double and Phillips was 1-for-3 with a triple.
Hunter Brown took the loss on the mound for the JDCC Warhawks. Brown allowed five earned runs on six hits, walked two and struck out four.
Shane Ikner went two innings and allowed two hits, walked three and struck out five in the loss.
