Brewton City councilmen are gearing up to get and keep Brewton clean through a variety of avenues.
Councilman Joe Watson reported to the council concerning plans for Earth Day 2009.
Watson said the clean up effort will include setting up dumpsters in the Alco area, at Brewton Middle School and in an area near the old Walmart location, Watson said.
Mayor Ted Jennings said the efforts to clean Brewton are also being planned in conjunction with the annual Relay for Life event.
Watson said plans are also in the works to tear down dwellings that are dilapidated and to clean up those properties.
