As our summer snapshot contest has proven over the past two years, we have a lot of talented shutterbugs in our community.
We’ve received photos from beach vacations, river excursions, and backyard pools, all of them showcasing the people in our community.
And with so many events going on in our community — from art shows and musicals to sports events — we would love to see everyone’s perspective on the happenings in Brewton and East Brewton.
Our new Web site offers you an opportunity to share some of your photos with our readers.
The process is really pretty simple: Just go to our Web site at www.brewtonstandard.com and find the “Your Photos” section at the bottom left of the site. Click on “submit a photo” and follow the steps from there.
Photos must be submitted in jpeg format or we won’t be able to post them, but most digital cameras already store photos in that format, so you shouldn’t have any trouble.
We’ve posted some of our own photos so far — including photos from the T.R. Miller production of “Grease” and the D.W. McMillan 5K, but we’re looking for more photos from our readers.
Perhaps you had a family birthday party or reunion and captured some particularly good photos. You can share them with readers of our Web site, and send links to friends and family.
As we continue to build our Web site as a partner to our printed newspaper, we want our readers to be involved.
In addition to the photo galleries, you can interact with our Web site through our online forum and poll question, by making comments about stories, and by submitting calendar items.
We hope you will continue to use our Web site as a companion to the newspaper.
