TRM softball beats MC

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team improved to 8-1 Thursday with a 9-3 win over the Monroe County High School Lady Tigers in Brewton.
The Lady Tigers of Brewton rallied from a 3-1 deficit and scored four runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings to win by six.
Monroe County took a 3-1 lead in the top of the third inning off of two T.R. Miller errors.
In the bottom of the fifth inning for the Lady Tigers, Teralyn Moore left off the inning as she was hit by a pitch,
Sara Lee, Leigh Margaret Bostic and Janel McCorvey all followed with bunts and T.R. Miller benefited from a Monroe County throwing error to score four runs and hold a 5-3 lead.
The Lady Tigers added four more runs in the sixth inning courtesy of two walks and doubles by Alex Baggett and Moore to get a 9-3 lead and hold on for the win.

Laurel Billy picked up her second no hitter in as many games and Miranda McNamara had an inside-the-park homerun and three RBIs to lead the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger to a 7-1 win over Monroe County.
Monroe County scored one run in the first inning and no more in the game and T.R. Miller scored one in each of the first and second inning and three in the third inning to claim 7-1 win.
Billy had five strikeouts and allowed three walks and no hits in the win.
McNamara was 2-for-2 to lead the Lady Tigers and Michaela Stabler was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.
A couple of games for the Lady Tigers have been changed. The Friday, March 27 game at Bayside Academy has been changed to Tuesday, March 31 at 4:30 p.m. at Bayside.
The Tuesday, March 31 game against Choctaw County has been changed to Thursday, April 9 at Choctaw. The game will begin 4:30 p.m. and will be a double header.
