Lady Tigers hold on

Leading 4-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers held on for a 4-3 area win at Cottage Hill Friday night to improve to 11-2 in stay undefeated in the area with a 2-0 record.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Lady Tiger pitcher Miranda Anderson walked the first two batters of the inning and hit the third batter to load the bases.
With the bases loaded, a wild pitch makes the score 4-3 in favor of the Lady Tigers with no outs.
A walked next batter loads the bases again for Cottage Hill and with no outs, Anderson strikes out the last three batters of the game to get win—the last strikeout coming with a full count on the batter.
T.R. Miller led 1-0 at the end of the first inning before Cottage Hill tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning and took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
The Lady Tigers then scored one run in the top of the fourth inning and two in the fifth inning to claim a 4-2 lead and held on for the 4-3 win.
Anderson pitched the complete game to pick up the win on the mound for the Lady Tigers. Anderson allowed four hits, three walks, struck out six and the Lady Tigers committed two errors in the game.
Janel McCorvey was 3-for-4 for T.R. Miller with two runs scored.
Several other Lady Tigers had one hit in the one-run area win.
Natalie Neal had an RBI in the win.
Game time is set for 4 p.m. for the varsity game and the JV is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, T.R. Miller will travel to Monroe County to take on the Lady Tigers in Monroeville.
Game times are the same as on Monday.
On Thursday, T.R. Miller will be back in area play as the travel to Butler to take on Choctaw County in a double header.
Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
That game will be an area game against Bayside Academy.
The W.S. Neal game will not be made up.
