Warhawk baseball drops two

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team fell to 13-15 overall and 6-6 in conference play after they dropped two-of-three games against Central Alabama.
JDCC lost the first game to Central Alabama 8-5 before rallying in the second game to win 10-8.
In the rubber match game of the series, JDCC fell by a score of 7-3.
JDCC was set to take on Southern Union on Saturday and Sunday at home.
Game time for today’s game is set for 1 p.m. and will be a nine-inning game.
JDCC will be back in action at home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. when they take on Faulkner University in a doubleheader in Brewton.
Game one: CACC 8, JDCC 5
Central Alabama used a four-run first inning to hold a 7-0 lead after seven innings before JDCC scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to cut the lead to 7-5.
Central Alabama scored one run in the bottom of the eighth inning and held the Warhawks scoreless in the top of the ninth inning to get the 8-5 win.
The loss dropped JDCC to 12-14 and 5-5 in conference play.
Shane Ikner took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Ikner went five innings and allowed four hits, one earned run (five total), four walks, and four strikeouts.
Ben Negus was 2-for-5 at the plate for the Warhawks and C.J. Lindsey had one RBI.
Ben Blodgett was 2-for-3 and Terry McClain was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Cody Turner was 1-for-5 and Reid Wynn was 2-for-4.
Harry Haring was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs in the loss.
Game two: JDCC 10, CACC 8
Trailing 8-5 after six innings, JDCC scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to get a 10-8 win in game two against CACC.
Hunter Norris picked up the win on the mound for JDCC.
Norris went 1 2/3 inning and allowed one hit and had one strikeout.
Negus was 1-for-5 and McClain was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
C.J. Moorer led JDC at the plate, as he was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a homerun.
Cody Sanderson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double and Wynn was 1-for-4. Ryne Phillips was 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the win.
JDCC struck first in the game with one run in the top of the first inning, but CACC took a 3-1 lead with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Warhawks tied the game at 3-3 with three runs in the top of the inning and took a 4-3 lead with one run in the top of the third.
CACC tied the game at 4-4 with one run in the fourth inning, but JDCC grabbed a 5-4 lead with one run in the sixth before CACC scored four in the bottom of the sixth inning to get an 8-5 lead.
Game three: CACC 7, JDCC 3
JDCC dropped a 7-3 decision in game three against CACC to fall to 13-15 overall and 6-6 in conference play.
Michael Clay took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Clay went 4 1/3 inning, allowing four earned runs on six hits, walked three and struck out none.
Negus was 3-for-4 with one RBI and Lindsey was 1-for-4.
McClain was 1-for-3 and Sanderson had an RBI in the loss.
Wynn was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Phillips was 1-for-4.
Haring was 2-for-4 in the loss for JDCC at the plate.
