EBLL begins season

In the first games of the season for the East Brewton Little League, the Red Sox, A’s, Yankees and Mustang softball team picked up wins.
9- and 10-year-old Red Sox 7, Cubs 6
Despite having no hits, the Red Sox picked up a 7-6 win over the Cubs.
Blake McGraw scored three runs for the Red Sox as they used 10 walks to defeat the Cubs.
McGraw pitched for the Red Sox and allowed two runs on five hits, walked one and struck out three.
Brandon Moye allowed three hits and four runs while walking one and striking out two.
Moye, Trevor Williams, P.J. Lovelace and Gage Parker all scored runs in the win.
Tray English and Weston Riddle both pitched for the Cubs in the loss.
English allowed three runs and walked five while striking out 11 and allowing no hits.
Riddle allowed no hits, four runs, walked five and struck out one.
Brandon Burch was 2-for-3 and Tyshaun Davis was 1-for-3.
Tucker Davenport was 1-for-2 along with Omar Ellington.
Jason Prescod scored two runs for the Cubs.
A’s 8, Cardinals 5
Matt Hutchins allowed no runs and no walks while striking out seven and allowing two hits and was 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a single as the A’s defeated the Cardinals 8-5.
Keith Barksdale was 2-for-3 at the plate and Marcus Simmons and Aaron Bosarge were both 1-for-2.
Duane Hamby also pitched in the win for the A’s.
Hamby allowed two hits, five runs, and walked three.
Quinn Riley and Jeremy Simms pitched for the Cardinals.
Riley allowed six hits, seven runs, walked four and struck out six.
Simms allowed one hit, one run, and walked three.
Derrick Barton was 2-for-2 along with Simms who was 2-for-2.
11-and 12-year-old Yankees 10, White Sox 1
Tyler Joyner and Justin Sessions combined for two hits, one run, one walk and 13 strikeouts for the Yankees as they defeated the White Sox 10-1.
Joyner allowed two hits, one runs and struck out 10 and Sessions allowed one walk and struck out three.
Joyner was 2-for-3 at the plate along with Lane Chavers who was 2-for-2.
Dalton Shell was 1-for-2 and Miles Powell was 1-for-3.
For the White Sox, Quantae Barksdale, Taylor Elliott and Robert Jones all pitched.
Barksdale allowed three hits, six runs, six walks and struck out three.
Elliott allowed three hits, four runs, walked two and struck out one.
Jones allowed one walk and struck out two.
Jones was 1-for-2 at the plate and Michael Williams was 1-for-2.
Barksdale scored the lone run for the White Sox.
Stats for the Mustangs’ win over the Divas were not known as of press time.
