Joy Wiggins and her staff in the Escambia County Tax Collector’s Office are very busy trying to collect taxes owed property in the county.
There is a list of delinquent tax papers listed in another section of this issue of The Brewton Standard. This list contains the names of those who have not paid their property taxes.
The newspapers will list the delinquents for four weeks in April and those that do not pay at that time will have their properties sold at auction on the steps of the courthouse on May 14. Money obtained from these sales will be used to satisfy the abstracts charged to the tax collector’s office.
