Candidates for Senate District 22 agree on at least one thing: Jobs are the top priority for south Alabama.
Three candidates will be on the ballot Tuesday in the Republican primary for late state Sen. Pat Lindsey’s seat. The winner will face state Rep. Marc Keahey, D-Grove Hill, in the general election.
Republican candidates include: Greg Albritton of Evergreen, a real estate appraiser, attorney and timber farmer and former state representative; Judy M. Belk of Citronelle, a licensed broker in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana; and Danny B. Joyner of Brewton, a former lieutenant with the Brewton Police Department and current owner of Safety and Security Consultants Inc.
Belk agreed the economy must be the top priority.
Joyner said people in the area need a chance to get back to work.
Keahey said he has worked to help bring jobs to the region.
Albritton said his experience as a legislator would help him succeed in the Senate.
Belk said her experience in business would translate well to the Senate.
Joyner said he understands how the Legislature works.
Keahey said he would bring a legal and legislative background to the office.
