JDCC baseball falls to Wallace State

The Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team dropped two of three games at Wallace State-Dothan over the weekend.
The loss dropped the Warhawks to 15-19 overall and 8-10 in conference play.
JDCC was set to take on Marion Military at home Tuesday and will be back in action Friday and Saturday at home against Bishop State.
Game times are set for 1 p.m.  Friday and Saturday’s games will begin at noon as a doubleheader gets underway.
Game one:
WSD 11,
JDCC 10
Wallace State used an eight-run fourth inning to overcome a 6-0 deficit and added two late runs to defeat JDCC 11-10 in game on.
JDCC out hit Wallace State 15-5 in the loss, but lost by one.
JDCC held a 6-0 lead through the top of the fourth inning before giving up eight runs in the inning to fall behind 8-6.
JDCC scored four runs in the sixth inning to grab a 10-8 lead but fell to one run in the seventh inning and two in the eighth inning.
C.J. Moorer led JDCC at the plate. Moorer was 2-for-5 with two homeruns and three RBIs.
C.J. Lindsey was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Hunter Norris was 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Cody Sanderson was 3-for-4 with a double. Ryne Phillips was 1-for-5 with three RBIs and a double.
Harry Haring was 1-for-6 with one RBI and Ben Negus was 1-for-5.
Ben Blodgett was 1-for-4 in game play.
Michael Clay, Derek Young, Hunter Brown, and Andrew Favant all pitched in the loss for JDCC.
Game two:
JDCC 9,

JDCC scored seven runs in the third inning to take game two 9-3 and even the series. With the win, JDCC improved to 15-18 and 8-9 overall.
After holding a 7-0 lead through six innings, JDCC added one run in the seventh inning to take an 8-0 lead.
Wallace State cut the lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the inning and added two runs in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 8-3.
JDCC added a run in the top of the ninth to get the six-run win.
Negus was 1-for-4 and Lindsey was 2-for-5 with one RBI.
Blodgett was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Moorer was 3-for-4.
Sanderson led the way with a 2-for-5 day and three RBIs.
Sanderson had a double and a homerun in the win.
Cody Turner was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Blake Long ha done RBI.
Haring was 1-for-4.
Hunter Brown was the winning pitcher for the Warhawks.
Brown went 6 and one-third innings allowing one earned run on five hits, walking one and striking out seven.
Game three:
WSD 1,
JDCC 0
It took 11 innings to get a winner in the third game and rubber match of the series.
Wallace State scored in the bottom of the 11th inning to get a 1-0 win.
JDCC was out hit in the game 12-5.
Hunter Norris took the loss in the game pitching one inning.
Norris allowed four hits, one earned run and allowed no walks or strikeouts.
Shane Ikner got the start and the no-decision. Ikner allowed four hits and walked four and struck out seven in the loss for the Warhawks.
Negus was 1-for-5 and Lindsey was 2-for-4 at the plate. Turner was 1-for-5 and Haring was 1-for-3 for JDCC.

The losses dropped JDCC to 14-17 overall this season.
JDCC picked up a win in game one 4-0, but fell in game two 12-3 and lost in game three 24-11.
Game one:
JDCC 4,
JDCC scored two runs in the first inning and two in the seventh inning and Hunter Brow and Derek Young combined for shutout to give JDCC a 4-0 win in game one.
Brown picked up the win going seven innings and allowing no runs, walked three and struck out eight.
Young went two innings allowing two hits and one strike out.
Reid Wynn was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead JDCC.
Game two:
SU 12,
JDCC 3
Southern Union used a nine-run fifth inning to defeat JDCC 12-3 in the second game of the series.
Shane Ikner took the loss for JDCC on the mound. Ikner went 4 2/3 innings and allowed eight hits, nine runs, four walks and struck out two.
David Dean, Michael King, and Andrew Favant all pitched in relief.
Terry McClain and Hunter Norris were both 1-for-3 with an RBI each in the loss and Sean Little was 1-for-3 with a double.
Game three:
SU 24,
JDCC 11
In a game that saw 35 combined runs and 28 hits, JDCC dropped to 14-17 with a 13-run loss in the final game Sunday.
Michael Clay took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Clay went one inning and allowed four earned runs on four hits, walked three and struck out one.
JDCC have five players hit for doubles with two homeruns and one a triple in the loss.
Ben Negus was 3-for-6 with one RBI and a double and Hunter Norris was 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a homerun.
Cody Sanderson was 2-for-5 with a homerun and two RBIs.
McClain had three RBIs in the loss.
