Seventh heaven|TRM softball gets seventh straight win

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team improved their win streak to seven straight wins Thursday in Butler with a doubleheader area win over Choctaw County.
The win improved the Lady Tigers to 15-2 and 4-0 in area play.
The Lady Tigers defeated Choctaw County 11-7 in game one and 11-10 in game two.
T.R. Miller is off this week due to spring break and will be back in action Tuesday, April 21 at home against Hillcrest of Evergreen.
Game time is set for 4 p.m. at the Brewton Area YMCA Sports Park.
Game one:
T.R. Miller 11,
Choctaw County 7
In game one against Choctaw County, the Lady Tigers of Brewton jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the top of the second inning and picked up an 11-7 area win.
T.R. Miller had their lead cut to 5-4, but took a 10-4 in the top of the sixth inning and held on for the win.
T.R. Miller’s Miranda Anderson picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Tigers in game one.
Anderson struck out eight and allowed 11 hits in the win.
Janel McCorvey was 1-for-3 for T.R. Miller and Brandi Kennedy was 2-for-4 with a double.
Taylor Guthrie was 1-for-4 and Leah Brundidge was 2-for-4.
Emily Waters was 1-for-4 and Teralyn Moore was 3-for-4. Sara Lee was 2-for-3 for T.R. Miller in the win.
Game two:
T.R. Miller 11,
Choctaw County 10
In game two, the Tigers squeaked by Choctaw County 11-10 to improve to 15-2 and 4-0 in the area.
T.R. Miller held a 4-0 lead after the first inning and took a 5-0 lead after two innings of play.
Choctaw County cut the lead to 5-2 in the third inning, but T.R. Miller added four runs in the fourth inning to grab a 9-2 lead.
Choctaw County scored four runs in the fifth inning to cut the lead to 9-6.
T.R. Miller added two runs in the sixth inning to take an 11-6 lead in the game. Choctaw County added four runs in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 11-10, but T.R. Miller held on for the win.
Anderson picked up the win in game two also. She went the complete game and allowed 13 hits, walked one and struck out seven.
Brundidge was 3-for-4 and Natalie Neal was 2-for-4 with a double in game two.
Guthrie was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.
Waters, Leigh Margaret Bostic and Anderson were all 1-for-4 and Lee was 1-for-2 in the win.

Escambia County 5
In other games for T.R. Miller, the Lady Tigers improved to 12-5 with a 13-5 win over Escambia County in Atmore.
McCorvey was 2-for-4 and Kennedy was 2-for-4 with a double.
Neal was 2-for-4 with a double and a homerun and Guthrie was 1-for-3. Brundidge was 2-for-4 with a double in the win.

Monroe County 0
T.R. Miller traveled to Monroe County High School for a matchup. The Tigers were able to hold the Monroe County team scoreless to improve to 13-5. The Tigers took the win by a score of 12-0.
McCorvey was 3-for-4 and Neal was 2-for-4 in the game. Guthrie was 3-for-4 with a triple and Brundidge was 1-for-4.
T.R. Miller scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third inning and seven in the fifth inning to get the 12-run win.
