JDCC beats MMI

Jeff Davis picked up a 6-3 win over Marion Military Tuesday afternoon at home to improve to 16-19 overall this season.
JDCC held a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but after having their lead cut to 2-1 in the top of the second inning, scored runs in each of the third and fifth innings and two more in the sixth to hold on for the three-run lead.
Marion Military scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to cut the Warhawk’s lead to 6-3.
Michael King picked up the win on the mound for JDCC. King went six innings and allowed one run on five hits, walked one and struck out three.
Derek Lowry closed the game and allowed two earned runs on four hits, walked tow and struck out three in the final three innings of play Tuesday.
C.J. Lindsey was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Ben Blodgett was 1-for-4 with a triple.
C.J. Moorer went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a double in the win and Trent Smith was 1-for-3.
Cody Turner was 1-for-3 and Sean Little was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Blake Long was a perfect 4-for-4 in the win for JDCC to lead at the plate and Harry Haring added an RBI in the win.
