Mrs. Sarah Florence Wilks Johnson, 96, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at a local nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Harrisville, Ken., and a long time resident of Brewton. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Brewton First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, John Leslie (Diane) Johnson Jr. of Loganville, Ga.; a daughter, Sarah Ann (John) Freeman of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Margaret Meggs of Monroeville, Evelyn Frost of Alabama and Frances Hammock of Mobile; and two grandchildren, Johanna Ashley Freeman and Leslie Johnson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
