In East Brewton Little League action Monday night, the A’s and Cardinals picked wins.
The A’s defeated Flomaton One 12-8 and the Cardinals defeated the Red Sox 11-2.
A’s 12, Flomaton One 8
On Monday, the A’s improved their record with a 12-8 win over the Flomaton One team.
Matt Hutchins was 3-for-4 in the win and Marcus Simmons was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Keith Barksdale was 2-for-3 and Duane Hamby and Cameron Phillips was 1-for-2.
Hamby and Barksdale combined for the win on the mound for the A’s.
Hamby allowed eight runs on six hits, walked seven and struck out five.
Barksdale allowed one hit, one walk and struck out one.
Flomaton Two 10, Cubs 2
The Cubs were held two only two hits as they lost 10-2 to Flomaton Two.
Omar Ellington was 1-for-1 and Tyshawn Davis was 1-for-2 for the only two hits for the Cubs.
Weston Riddle and Davis pitched for the Cubs. Riddle allowed three hits, eight runs, walked seven and struck out three.
Davis allowed two hits, two runs, one walk struck out four.
Cardinals 11, Red Sox 2
Three Cardinal pitchers combined for a no-hitter against the Red Sox as the Cardinals won 11-2.
Jeremy Sims, Quinn Riley and Jacolby Hawthorne picked up the no-hitter.
Sims allowed two runs and two walks in the win and Riley allowed nine walks and struck out five.
Hawthorne walked one in the win.Hunter Revel was 1-for-2 for the Cubs and Jordan Madden was 1-for-1.
For the Red Sox, Conner Huskey and Brandon Moye scored a run each for the Red Sox.
Huskey, Moye and Trever Williams pitched in the loss for the Red Sox. Huskey and Moye allowed one hit each and Williams allowed none.
Huskey allowed two runs, one walk and struck out six and Moye allowed four runs and four walks and struck out three.
Flomaton 5, White Sox 4
Flomaton upended the White Sox 5-4 Monday night to drop White Sox into the loss column.
The White Sox out hit Flomaton 10-6 but fell by one.
Quantae Barksdale was 3-for-3 at the plate and Rob Jones was 2-for-3 with a double.
Taylor Elliott was 2-for-3 with a double and Tristan Fore was 2-for-3 with a double. Dillon Simmons was 1-for-3 in the loss.
Fore, Elliott and Barksdale pitched in the loss.
Fore allowed four hits, three runs, walked one and struck out five.
Elliott allowed one hit, two runs, walked one and struck out one.
Barksdale allowed one hit and struck out five.
In interleague play Tuesday night, the East Brewton Red Sox defeated the Brewton Cubs 14-6 behind the no-hit pitching of Brandon Moye and Trever Williams.
Moye allowed six runs on eight walks and struck out five in the win for the Red Sox and Williams allowed no runs, walked one and struck out one.
Moye was 3-for-3 at the plate and Williams was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Conner Husky was 1-for-2 and Hayden Winchester and Gage Parker were both 1-for-1.
For the Brewton Cubs, Nash Derricks and Cameron Pope pitched on the mound in the loss.
Derricks allowed six hits, 10 runs, walked six and struck out three. Pope allowed two hits, four runs, four walks and struck out one.
Flomaton Two 12, A’s 6
In 9-and 10-year-old action Thursday night, Flomaton Two doubled up the A’s 12-6.
Matt Hutchins took the loss on the mound for the A’s. Hutchins allowed 12 runs on seven hits, walked three and struck out six.
Harley Fuqua was 1-for-2 and Hutchins was 3-for-3 at the pate with a triple.
Keith Barksdale was 1-for-2 in the loss.
Duane Hamby and Caleb Kaylor scored a run each for the A’s and Devin Parker and Fuqua scored twice in the loss.
For Flomaton, Hayden Hammond, Conner White and Hannah Fillmore combined for the win on the mound.
At the plate, Hammond was 2-for-2 and Fillmore was 2-for-2 with a triple.
White was 1-for-3 and Cole Brown was 2-for-3.
Flomaton One 4, Red Sox 3
Blake McGraw was 2-for-2 with an inside-the-park homerun for the Red Sox, but it was not enough as Flomaton One upended the Red Sox 4-3 Thursday.
Brandon Moye was 1-for-2 with the other hit for the Red Sox in the loss. McGraw scored twice and Moye scored one time in the loss for the Red Sox.
McGraw and Conner Husky pitched for the Red Sox. McGraw allowed two runs on one hit, walked one and struck out six. Husky allowed two runs on two hits, walked one and struck out two.
Blayne Miller was 2-for-2 for Flomaton One with a double and Jo Jo Carpenter was 1-for-2 with a triple.
Brant Ellington was 1-for-2. Miller, Ellington and Mason Kent combined for the win on the mound for Flomaton.
Cardinals 13, Cubs 11
In a game that saw 24 combined runs and only two hits, the Cardinals claimed a 13-11 win over the Cubs Thursday in East Brewton.
Tyler Williams picked up the lone hit for the Cardinals in the win and Tucker Davenport had the only hit for the Cubs.
Jeremy Sims, Derrick Barton and Hunter Revel all pitched for the Cardinals in the win.
Simms allowed three runs on no hits, walked three and struck out none.
Barton allowed one hit, four runs, four walks and struck out none and Revel allowed four runs, three walks and struck out four.
For the Cubs, Travius English, Davenport and Weston Riddle pitched in the loss.
English allowed 10 runs on one hit, walked nine and struck out five.
Davenport allowed one run, one walk and had no strikeouts and Riddle allowed two runs, two walks and struck out one.
Yankees 5, White Sox 2
The Yankees’ Tyler Joyner allowed one hit, two runs and struck out 16 as the East Brewton Yankees defeated the White Sox 5-2.
Joyner was 1-for-3 at the plate along with Miles Powell, Logan Allen, and Justin Sessions. Dalton Shell was 1-for-2 at the plate in the win.
Quantae Barksdale and Rob Jones both pitched in the loss for the White Sox.
Barksdale allowed four runs on five hits, walked two and struck out eight in the loss.
Jones allowed one run and struck out one. Barksdale had the lone hit at the plate for the White Sox, as he was 1-for-2. Both Barksdale and Jones scored for the White Sox. Joyner, Powell, Alex O’Keane, Malcolm Hawthorne and Colton Morris all scored for the Yankees.
