Vintage items are becoming more and more collectible and for those looking for something to add to their collection, Brewton now has an outlet to satisfy those needs.
Rebecca’s of Brewton, located at the corner of St. Nicholas Avenue and St. Joseph Avenue, opened the doors to this eclectic retail outlet in February and has been growing ever since.
Rebecca Pintado said she believed owning this type of retail space would be fun and beneficial to area collectors.
One reason Pintado thought of the idea is because she has items she creates that needed a retail outlet to reach the public.
After securing the location, Pintado began recruiting vendors for the space.
Pintado said rental space starts out at $15 a month and varies depending on the space size rented.
Pintado said business is doing well and she hopes it will continue to grow.
Along with smaller, reasonably priced items suitable for gifts that are displayed throughout the shop, Pintado has given antique and vintage furniture a prominent place in the shop.
Pintado’s good feelings have grown since the store opened and have progressed into a feeling of pride.
In the shop you’ll find antiques and collectibles in crystal, milk glass, china and furniture. Handmade items currently include smocked dresses in formal and leisure fashions; purses, jewelry; hair bows, burpies and body products. Original artwork adorns the walls with most being created by local artists. Vintage clothing and memorabilia items are also available.
Rebecca’s of Brewton is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For information concerning items for sale or to rent a booth space, call Rebecca at 867-4618.
