TRM to host area softball tourney
T.R. Miller High School and the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team will host the 2009 class 3A area one softball tournament.
The tournament will be held Friday, May 1, at the Brewton YMCA Sports Park. Admission is $6.
T.R. Miller will take on Bayside Academy at 2 p.m. on field D and Cottage Hill and Choctaw County will play at 2 p.m. on Field A. The winners will play 3:30 p.m. with the losers playing also at 3:30 p.m. on field D.
The tournament is a double-elimination format.
Run to take place in Navarre
The Navarre Raider Run will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, at Bennett   C. Russell Stadium/Concession Area at Navarre High School.  The race is a 5K Run/Walk  in Navarre.

Youth Summer Community League
TheYSCL will have their first meeting for their annual basketball league Thursday, May 21, at Second St. Siloam Baptist Church at 6 p.m. The league is asking as many civic and church organizations to join the league.
Feel free to contact George Watson with any questions at 809-488 after 5 p.m. Games will begin on June 6 until Aug. 1 and will be held every Friday and Saturday at the Brewton Middle School gym.
Each team is grade and age based and is open kindergarten (age 5) to 12th grade (age 18).
