Mr. Benjamin Cecil Salter, 56, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in a local hospital. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a truck driver by trade. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Holiness Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Benjamin Salter and Bertie Crutchfield Salter; and a sister, Barbara Josephine Salter.
He is survived by his wife, Florance Salter of Brewton; two sons, Benjamin Cecil Salter Jr. and Tommy James Salter, both of Brewton; two daughters, Jamie May (Albert Lee) Patton and B.J. Elizabeth (Shown Lee) Biddle, both of Brewton; one brother, Joseph Blaine Salter of Brewton; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Cardwell and the Rev. Reo Pugh officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
