The Escambia County Council on Aging will issue Farmer’s Market coupons in May in Brewton, Atmore and Flomaton.
Farmer’s Market coupons are issued only to people who are 60 years of age or older, and residents of Escambia County, Alabama.
Regina Gohagan, director of the Escambia County Council on Aging, said this is not a new program, but one that is several years old.
If the booklets are not used by Nov. 15, the amount the Escambia County Council on Aging will receive next year will be cut next year, so Gohagan encourages that the recipients please use all the coupons in that time period.
Escambia County has three sites set up to distribute the booklets. The first will be Thursday, May 21, at the Farmers Market area next to the railroad track in Atmore beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m. unless coupons are gone before that time. There are a limited number of the coupons and when they are gone, there will be no more until next summer.
Coupons will be issued at Flomaton from 10:30 until noon on Thursday, May 21, at the Flomaton Town Hall.
In the Brewton/East Brewton area, the coupons will be issued at the East Brewton Civic Center on Hwy. 41 from 9 until 11 a.m. on Friday, May 22.
Bring a driver’s license or another type of valid identification.
