Mrs. Gracie Walston “Dottie” Smith, 90, of Appleton Road, died Monday, May 4, 2006, at a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native and former resident of Monroe County, before moving to Brewton 80 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of North Brewton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Aubrey Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Franklin David (Mariam) Barnes and Sidney Earl (Linda) Barnes, both of Mobile; two daughters, Ann (Charles) Johns and Joyce (Orian) Lisenby, both of Brewton; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
