While the T.R. Miller boys picked up the 3A state championship, the Lady Tigers of T.R. Miller were not to be outdone as they picked up the class 3A state runner-up trophy on Friday also.
T.R. Miller’s Lady Tiger track team won the class 3A runner-up with 81 points. The Lady Tigers trailed Altamont by 14 points to win the second place finish.
The girls, who trailed 39-37 at the end of the first day, were led by Karisa Nelson who placed in four events, Amber Nelson who placed in four events and Shelby Youngblood who placed in three.
T.R. Miller Lady Tiger Karisa Nelson added another runner-up to the trophy case for T.R. Miller. Nelson and the Lady Tiger cross county team won runner-up earlier this fall.
Another Lady Tiger Catherine Green finished off a great week.
Green, who has already won a state championship this season with the girl’s basketball team, signed a basketball scholarship on Monday to play at Enterprise. Now she adds a runner-up state championship trophy to the week.
