A local resident believes she was the victim of a robbery by two women, and Brewton police are hoping surveillance photos will lead them to the suspects.
An elderly resident told police last month that she withdrew $30,000 from a local bank on April 2 to make a trip to Detroit.
While walking to her vehicle, she was approached by a black female in her 50s, wearing a green jacket. The woman had a medium to dark complexion.
The victim told police that the woman asked for a ride to a local business.
The victim agreed because she said the woman looked innocent and appeared to be of no harm.
When they arrived at the business, while both women sat in the vehicle, the victim said she was approached by a second black female in her 50s, wearing a white blouse and of medium build with a medium complexion.
The women then exited the car and entered the business. Once they were inside the business, the victim lost contact with both women and shortly after noticed that the $30,000 was missing.
Police believe the two women worked together to steal the money.
The woman shown in surveillance video photos is the woman who first asked the victim for a ride to the local business.
Police were not able to retrieve a photo of the second woman.
If anyone has any information about the identity of the women in the photos, police have asked that they contact the Brewton Police Department at 251-8667-3212.
