Following a manhunt early Thursday morning, sheriff’s deputies in Levy, Fla., apprehended 30-year-old Chad Floyd Jeter, who is a suspect in for the armed robbery of First National Bank & Trust in Atmore Tuesday afternoon.
According to Atmore Public Safety Director Glenn Carlee, he received a phone call just after 4 a.m. Thursday that a sheriff's deputy in Levy, Fla., had approached Jeter on suspicion and had been injured.
A foot pursuit through the marshes involving the U.S. Coast Guard ensued, and Jeter was later captured and taken into custody around 6:15 a.m.
Carlee said Jeter now faces charges in Levy, Fla., adding that at some point he will be extradited to Escambia County by the sheriff’s office.
