Mrs. Mamie Lucille Hawsey, 89, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at her residence. She was a native of Brewton and has lived here most of her life. She worked as a salesperson at Robbins and McGowin for a number of years. She was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Goffre Hawsey of Brewton; two sons, Jerry (Javonda) Hawsey of Brewton, and Tim (Diana) Hawsey of Flomaton; two brothers, Frank Taylor of Brewton, and Billy Taylor of Warsaw, Mo.; three sisters, Vonnie Helton of Columbia, Penn., Libby Davis of Brewton, and Nell Gerard of Lake Wales, Fla.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 28, at Craver’s Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 29, at 10 a.m. at Catawba Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Edwards, Jerry Hawsey and Tim Hawsey officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
