Mrs. Mary Lou Alford Holland, 88, died Monday, May 25, 2009, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native and life long resident of Brewton. She was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and worked as a LPN at Holley Hospital and retired from D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital with more than 40 years of service.
She is survived by three sons, Grady Malone Holland III and Thomas Lamar Holland, both of Brewton, and Charles Earl Holland of Milton, Fla.; a daughter, Beverly Ann Reed of Brewton; two brothers, Dewitt Agerton of East Brewton, and Jimmy Agerton of Brewton; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at Elim Cemetery with the Rev. Adam Armstrong and the Rev. Thomas White officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
