Two local rivals on the field have joined up together to play baseball for the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team in Brewton.
W.S. Neal’s William Shell and T.R. Miller’s Sam Sharpe, both pitchers and outfielders, have joined the Warhawks baseball team.
JDCC head coach Darrell Blevins said he and the team are “extremely excited’ to be getting Shell and Sharpe.
Blevins said both individuals threw a good deal of innings for their teams and are capable of throwing a lot of strikes.
In Shell’s case, Blevins said he showed very good arm strength early in the year.
For Sharpe, Blevins said his tenacity is second to none.
Blevins said both are athletic enough that they should be able to field their position and control the running game at the college level.
