After a theft at a downtown business, Brewton Police officers are asking for help from the public to locate and arrest the suspects.
Lt. Eric Suarez with the Brewton Police Department said the Friday morning theft left one cash register short on change.
Suarez said clerks at the store told officers the pair came into the store with one suspect asking questions about baby clothes. While the clerk was answering questions and showing baby items available to one person, the other person was out of sight.
Suarez said when the clerk reached the register she discovered the drawer open and money missing from the register.
No description of a vehicle involved in the incident was made available to investigators, Suarez said.
Suarez said other businesses around town have said similar circumstances have occurred at their locations as well. However, no other business has reported losses of any kind.
Anyone with any information concerning the two suspects, a vehicle that may have been seen in the area at the time of the robbery or other information on suspicious persons should contact the Brewton Police Department at 867-3212.
