Be the first to get the news

Sometimes, an idea just makes good sense. Beginning this weekend, The Brewton Standard will move delivery of its weekend edition up one day — the newspaper will be delivered, mailed and distributed on Saturdays.
Our weekend edition will include some new features — an expanded calendar, business news, a NASCAR column and a pastor profile — in addition to the regular news and sports with which readers are accustomed.
Logistically, it simply makes sense for us to deliver a weekend product early.
While the move is cost-effective for us and the sister newspaper that houses our press operation, there are also several advantages for readers:
Above all, Saturday delivery will help you get a jumpstart on your weekend. We hope to pack it with enough variety — news, features and activities — that you can read at your own pace. It’s perfect for those who need a quick rundown of headlines before a hectic weekend of family activities begins, but it will also be a great leisure read for those who want to stretch out the newspaper through Sunday.
In addition to our regular American Profile magazine that publishes every weekend, we’re also adding two new monthly publications — Relish, a cooking magazine that first published last month — and Spry, a health section that will be coming soon.
We hope you enjoy getting a jumpstart on your weekend. You’ll be the first to get the news.
