Brewton LL names All Star teams

Brewton Little League officials announced Monday their all-star teams from the 2009 season.
Twelve players were named to 9- and 10-year-old team while 11 players were named to both the 10- and 11-year-old and the 11- and 12-year-old teams.
The 9- and 10-year-old teams will travel to Opp and begin play on Saturday, June 27, against Evergreen at 6 p.m.
If Brewton wins they will play Opp, who had a bye in round one, at 8 p.m. on Sunday. If Brewton loses, they will play at 6 p.m. on Monday against the loser of Andalusia and Covington County.
Both the 10- and 11-year-old team and the 11- and 12-year-old teams will have their tournament in East Brewton.
The 10- and 11-year-old team will begin play on Tuesday, July 7, against Covington County at 7 p.m. as Andalusia has since dropped out of the tournament.
If Brewton wins, they will play at 6 p.m. on Wednesday against Escambia County (East Brewton and Flomaton) who had a bye. If they lose, they will play the loser of the Escambia County-Brewton/Covington County winner game.
The 11- and 12-year-old team will begin play on Saturday, July 4, in East Brewton at 5 p.m. against Covington County.
If Brewton wins they will play East Brewton at 8 p.m. on Sunday and if they lose they will play the loser of the Andalusia (bye) vs. Evergreen-Opp loser on Monday at 6 p.m.
All three tournaments except one, the 10- and 11-year-old bracket, will be a six-team bracket with teams including Brewton, Escambia County, Opp, Covington County, Evergreen and Andalusia.
The 10- and 11-year-old team tournament will be a three-team bracket with Opp, Andalusia and Evergreen not having teams.
Last year, Brewton’s 11-year-old team won the 2008 district 5 championship and advanced to the state tournament.
Making the all stars for Brewton are:
9- and 10-year-old team
Tyler Baxter, Hunter Brittain, Lane Clark, Stokes Jennings, Troy Lewis, Garrett Salter, Russell Smith, O’Neil White, Jordan Williams, Drew Williamson, Caleb Winton, and Joshua Winton.
Randy Winton will be the manager, and Ed Williamson will be the assistant coach.
10- and 11-year-old team
Cole Blackmon, Ethan Bollenbacher, Brooks Brown, Jared Cooper, Trippe Floyd, Austin Holmes, Jonathon Lucas, Jake Najor, Will Smith, Ethan Tyree, and Grant Youngblood.
Lew Najor will be the manager along with Robbie Floyd, who will be the assistant coach.
11-and 12-year-old
Kyle Davis, Hunter Harp, Walker Harris, Chris Jones, Jones Manning, Todd Mayo, Keaton Parker, James Peach, Tyler Reid, Lowell Swain, and Kellyn Winn.
Mark Manning will be the manager for the all stars, followed by Frank Reid, who will be the assistant coach.
