Mr. Julius Harvey Neese, 65, of Roby Street, died Friday, June 12, 2009, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, and was a retired machine operator at St. Regis Paper Mill with 35 years of service. He was of the Protestant faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Clayton Neese; his parents, Robert and Ida Neese; five brothers, Charles, Ralph, Wiley, Jessie and Robert Jr.; and two sisters, Annie Bell Johnson and Ella Ruth Plant.
He is survived by a daughter, Ann Neese Hoomes of East Brewton; a son, Robert (Patricia) Neese of Pace, Fla.; a brother, George Neese of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Melissa (Michael), Michelle (Jacob), Ashley (Scotty) and Daniel (Anna); and six great-grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Kena, Cheyanne, Christopher and AnnaMaria.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. William Joyner officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
