The Brewton Babe Ruth baseball season ended last week with the White Sox claiming the season championship.
The White Sox posted a 9-5 record and claimed the title over the Red Sox, who also had a 9-5 record, after having more head-to-head wins.
The Twins finished in third with an 8-7 record followed by the Diamondbacks at 7-7, the Angels at 6-8 and the Dodgers at 5-10.
Jake Hodge and Jake Hunsinger coached the White Sox this season. The coaching duo played baseball at W.S. Neal and graduated in 2008.
Hunsinger was pleased the way his team finished the season after a tough start.
Hodge agreed.
Diamondbacks 16, Dodgers 3
After falling behind 2-0 after the top of the first inning, the Diamondbacks scored at least three runs in four of the next five innings to get a 16-3 win over the Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks scored four runs in the first two innings along with three in the third, one in the fourth and four more in the fifth inning to get the 13-run win after the Dodgers scored one run in the top of the fifth.
Eli Tyree was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs for the Dodgers and Rob Stokes and Silas Tucker were both 2-for-4 with Tucker having two RBIs.
Taylor Ballard was 2-for-3 in the win and Louis Miller and Collin Graves were both 1-for-3. Graves had a triple in the win.
Hunter Franklin was 1-for-2 with a triple.
Austin Redash was 1-for-3 along with Shawn Odom. Kieon Smith and Caden Lodge were both 1-for-2.
White Sox 8, Twins 1
The White Sox used a five-run third inning to break open a 1-1 game and take a 6-1 lead and defeat the Twins 8-1.
The White Sox used seven hits and held the Twins to just three to get the win.
Keith Bradley, Damion Williams, Gary McGraw, Jaren Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Tyler Etheridge, and Neill Morris all had a hit each in the game with Etheridge having a double and Bradley having two RBIs in the win.
For the Twins, Kam Winn was 1-for-3 and Logan Williamson was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Trey Salter was 1-for-2 in the loss.
Twins 2, White Sox 1
After losing 8-1 to the White Sox in the previous game, the Twins rebounded with a 2-1 win over the White Sox in their next game.
The Twins scored a run in the first and fourth innings to claim an early 2-0 lead and held on for the one-run win after the White Sox scored in the seventh inning.
Dylan Godwin was 1-for-3 in the win for the Twins and Williamson was 1-for-1.
For the White Sox, Bradley was 1-for-3 and Jackson was 1-for-3 with a triple.
Angels 12, Red Sox 11
A seven-run second inning helped the Angels to a 12-11 win over the Red Sox.
With the game tied 2-2, the Angels scored seven runs to take a 9-2 lead.
After the Red Sox cut the lead to 9-3, the Angels scored one run in the third inning to take a 10-3 lead.
The Red Sox scored five runs in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 10-5, but the Angels took a 12-5 lead in the top of the fifth inning.
The Red Sox scored six runs in the bottom of the inning to get within 12-11, but failed to score anymore as the Angels won by one run.
William Whittle was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win for the Angels and Monterrius Culliver was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Red Sox along with Darby Black who was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Red Sox 3, Angels 2
Joseph Strength picked up a complete game win over the Angels for the Red Sox on the mound as they defeated the Angels 3-2.
Strength went seven innings and allowed two runs on three hits, walked two and struck out nine. Only one run was earned.
Hunter Mullins was 1-for-2 along with Curtis Glaize, Brewer Murphy, and Caleb Stewart who were all 1-for-3.
For the Angel, Ryan Hunt was 1-for-3 along with Cooper and Cody Smith were 1-for-2.
Red Sox 7, Evergreen 4
The Red Sox picked up a 7-4 win over Evergreen to improve their record.
Cam Blackman picked up the win on the mound for the Red Sox as he went 1 2/3 inning in relief and allowed no runs on one hit, stuck out one and walked two. Darby Black and Glaize also pitched in the win.
Glaize was 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI.
Strength was 1-for-2 along with Murphy and Blackman was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Dodgers 12,
Diamondbacks 6
The Dodgers used a four-run first inning to get a 12-6 win over the Diamondbacks.
Darrion Salter was 1-for-2 for the Dodgers in the win and Redash was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Odom was 1-for-3 and Josh Tompkins was 3-for-3 and an RBI.
Smith was 1-for-3 with and RBI and Lodge was 1-for-4 with three RBIs.
For the Diamondbacks, Louis Miller was 1-for-2 with and RBI and Taylor Ballard was 3-for-4.
Tyree was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Rob Stokes was 1-for-3.
