Organizers of the 29th annual Alabama Blueberry Festival are looking for ways to keep the heat from wilting spirits at the downtown event.
Weather forecasters are predicting temperatures of near 100 degrees today, as the festival gets under way at 9 a.m. at Burnt Corn Creek Park.
Michelle Jones, secretary of the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce, said staff and volunteers with the chamber are making every effort to help festivalgoers keep cool during the event.
Along with cooling tents to offer shade, Jones said misting fans will also cool things off.
Jones said there will be plenty of cold refreshments to help beat the heat as well.
