In a meeting of the East Brewton City Council, Carroll reported on the improvements at the park and asked for some assistance from the city.
East Brewton Mayor Terry Clark said he would work toward seeing what help the city can provide.
Carroll said work is progressing on a gate to be erected at the entrance to the park on Snowden Street.
Clark said an offer to assist in the making of gates for the entrance has been made to the city.
Carroll said more than 50 loads of dirt have been brought into the park to help eliminate holes and to level the ground in many areas of the park. Brush cleanup has also been going on at the location, he said.
Carroll also said signs have also been put into place announcing some rules to be observed at the park.
Carroll also said plans in the near future include the installation of playground equipment and restoring the pavilion in the park.
