Mrs. Gertrude Stephens Lloyd, 89, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, in Century. She was a native of Swainsboro, Ga., and a resident of Century, for the past 25 years. She attended the Baptist church and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lizzie Stephens; her husbands, John Mosley and Jerry David Loque; a son, John Mosley; and two daughters, Ianthia Ploof and Jerry Kate Wimberly.
She is survived by two daughters, Doris Long of Flomaton, and Joyce Letourneau of Vonore, Tenn.; an adopted son, David Ploof of Orlando, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 5, at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dustin Stockstill officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Petty Funeral Home of Atmore directing.
