Mr. Thomas McRay Hutcheson Sr., 91, of Virginia Street, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and former resident of Red Level, and a resident of Escambia County for the past 60 years. He was a former insurance and fish bait salesman and a member of New Vision Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Norris Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Daisy Belle Hutcheson; two sons, Thomas Elvin Hutcheson and Thomas McRay (Macky) Hutcheson Jr.; and two brothers, Arthur and Olen Hutcheson; and a siste, Wylene Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jean Minchew Hutcheson of East Brewton; two daughters, Crystal Dykes of East Brewton, and Dinah (Bud) Boatwright of Panama City, Fla.; two sons, Jeffery Kyle (Patty) Hutcheson and Thomas McRay Hutcheson III, both of East Brewton; five grandchildren, Haegan McCayne Dykes, Copelan McRay Dykes, Kristalyn Nicole Hutcheson, Nathaniel James Hutcheson and Amy Rodriquez; one great-grandchild, Spencer Rodriquez; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 4, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. William Joyner officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
