A Brewton man is “lucky” despite being shot in the back by a woman over the Fourth of July weekend, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies found Memphis Shane Riddle, 38, lying on the floor of a residence when responded to a 911 call at about 11 p.m. Sunday at 43275 U.S. 31 North, said Chief Deputy Mike Lambert.
Riddle told deputies he had returned home that night after riding horses and found Robin Lambeth, 35, of 6924 Appleton Road, at his home. An altercation occurred, and he told deputies Lambeth shot him in the back with a shotgun found at the scene.
Riddle was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and held overnight for treatment, Lambert said.
Lambeth left the scene but turned herself in later, Lambert said.
She has been charged with attempted murder and domestic violence assault, first degree. She is currently being held in the Escambia County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
