Brewton's Ryan Hunt drove in the game-winning RBI on a Sylacauga error to put Brewton's 14-year-old Babe Ruth team in the state title game tonight in Huntsville.
Brewton will take on South Huntsville, the team it beat in round one of pool play Saturday, around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday night for the chance to win the state championship.
Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh with two outs, Wes Maddox drove in Cam Blackman from second to tie the game at 2-2 and force extra innings.
Neither team scored in the extra innings until Hunt, with two outs and runners on first and third, drove in Blackman again to get the win 3-2.
Blackman was hit-by-pitch with one out and Caleb Stewart singled to put runners at first and second with one out.
Josh Maloy then grounded into a fielder's choice to force out Stewart at second, but Blackman advanced to third on the play.
