Brewton’s 15-year-olds end with big win, 18-1

In the state Babe Ruth 15-year-old tournament in Tallassee, Brewton’s All Stars finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.
Brewton lost their first game against Sylacauga on Saturday 11-10, but defeated Satsuma 12-2 on Sunday to even their record in pool play.
In their second game on Sunday, Brewton dropped a 14-5 loss to Tallassee before ending the tournament with a big win over Valley on Monday by a score of 18-1.
Saturday Game 1 vs. Sylacauga 11,
Brewton jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the game, but Sylacauga fought back and went ahead 8-5. 
Brewton then re-took the lead at 10-8 going into sixth inning before Sylacauga answered with three runs to take the lead 11-10. 
With two outs in the seventh inning, Caleb Dickey singled and Monterius Culliver doubled to put runners on second and third and Connor Denton lined out to centerfield to end the game.
Culliver was 2-for-5 with a double, Connor Denton was 2-for-5 and Reid Johnson was  1-for-3 with a double in the loss.
Caleb McAnally was 2-for-3 with a double,  Louis Miller was 1-for-2,  Dickey was 1-for-1, and Gary McGraw was 1-for-3.
Keith Bradley took the loss after relieving starter McGraw.
Sunday Game 2 vs. Satsuma: Brewton 12, Satsuma 2
Starting pitcher Connor Denton went the complete game on the mound as Brewton defeated Satsuma 12-2.
Caleb McAnally hit a grand slam home run and Jaren Jackson had a 3-for-4 day at the plate. 
With the game tied 0-0 entering the fifth inning,  Tallassee scored two runs  in the fifth inning to break the tie and Brewton answered with two runs of their own after singles from Collin Graves and Connor Denton.
Both players ended up scoring on passed balls to tie the game at 2-2.  Tallassee scored six runs in the sixth inning and six more in the seventh inning and Brewton scraped a few runs on back-to-back hits by Culliver, Denton, Johnson, and McAnally, but it was not enough as Brewton fell 14-5 to Tallassee and settled for a consolation game on Monday.
Monday Game 4 vs. Valley: Brewton 18, Valley 1
Starting pitcher  Gary McGraw  threw a complete game five inning winning and held Valley to one run as Brewton ended the tournament with an 18-1 win over Valley Monday in Tallassee.
Brewton jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and just continued to hit the ball and put pressure on Valley to get the 17-run win. 
McGraw pitched well the whole game and got great defensive plays from Jaren Jackson and Monterius Culliver in the outfield. 
McGraw had a good day at the plate as well going 2-for-4 with a double.  Denton led the charge with a 3-for-4 day with a single, double and home run. 
Reid Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double, McAnally was 2-for-3, Miller was 1-for-3 with a double, Graves was 1-for-3, Culliver was 1-for-3 and Jackson was 1-for-3 with a double in the win for the Brewton 15-year-old Babe Ruth All Stars.
