East Brewton City Council members will take their seats at Monday’s meeting with a new councilman at the table.
But the job won’t be new for Byron Palmer.
Palmer was appointed earlier this month to take the place of Wayne Howard.
Mayor Terry Clark said Palmer’s name was suggested to replace Howard, who lost his battle with cancer last month.
Palmer had given up his seat on the city council in order to run for a seat on the Escambia County School Board in 2006.
Palmer said his experience will help serve him well in the job.
Palmer will be sworn in Monday during the 5:30 p.m. East Brewton City Council meeting.
The term of the council seat is set to end in 2012.
