Lady Eagle volleyball begins Aug. 25

After advancing to the class 4A volleyball regionals last year, the W.S. Neal volleyball team and head coach Britney Shelly have finished summer workouts and are looking to fall practice.
For the 2009 team, Shelly said she has 10 girls on the varsity team and eight girls on her junior varsity team this year.
This year, the Lady Eagles did a few things different as far as team camp went.
With the end of summer workouts, the Lady Eagles began official practice on Monday, Aug. 3, in preparation for their 2009 season.
The 2009 version of the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle volleyball team will open their season on Tuesday, August 25, at home against Greenville at 4:30 p.m.
W.S. Neal’s schedule shows 17 total games with eight home games and nine away games.
The Lady Eagles will join T.R. Miller, Escambia County and Flomaton in the Escambia County tournament on Saturday, Oct. 10 in Flomaton.
W.S. Neal’s area games will be against B.C. Rain, UMS-Wright, and Jackson.
Three of the Eagles games will be tri-matches. Two will be area game tri-matches followed by one with Escambia County and Northview in Atmore.
W.S. Neal went 8-13 last season and lost in the class 4A regionals.
