Bobalyn McWhoter Rush and David Thomas Rush of Brewton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ashley Rush of Ozark, to Joshua Randall Pugh, son of Debi and Randall Pugh of Brewton.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Harlean and Bobby McWhorter of Macon, Ga., and Julia Noel Rush of Lilburn, Ga., and the late Ray Rush. She is a 2005 graduate of T.R. Miller High School, where she was the valedictorian and drum major. She is a 2009 graduate of Troy University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in social work. She is a member of Kappa Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Sigma, and Mortar Board. She is an active member of the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity and Troy/Pike County Habitat for Humanity. She is presently employed at the Consortium for Advancement in Health and Human Services in Ozark.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jewel Pugh of Brewton and the late J.D. Pugh, Hubert Lester of East Brewton and Jean Lester of East Brewton. He attended T.R. Miller High School, Jefferson Davis Community College and the University of West Florida. He is employed at Ken Cox Ford in Troy.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 10, 2009, at First United Methodist Church of Brewton at 6 p.m. Invitations will be sent.
