TRM v-ball getting ready

On Friday night, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball team held a scrimmage practice for fans to see and to work for their upcoming 2009 season opener.
T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball head coach Greg White said he saw plenty of things to work on before his team tips off their season with a tri-match against Baldwin County High School and Flomaton on Tuesday, Aug. 25 in Flomaton.
While there were some things White saw that his team needs to work on, he did appreciate the attendance for the scrimmage game Friday night.
White’s Lady Tigers were divided into two teams of players.
The red team saw nine players and consisted of Haley Brown, Audrey Hamric, Janel McCorvey, Leigh Margaret Bostic, Lauren Ward, Elizabeth Nelson, Amber Nelson, Jerrica Watson, and Takeysia McFurgerson.
The black team consisted of 10 players and was made up of Shelby Youngblood, Gerri Samuels, Miranda McNamara, Teralyn Moore, Natalie Neal, Leah Brundidge, Lauren Bradley, Taylor Guthrie, Emily Waters, and Laurel Billy.
The red team opened the best of three scrimmage with a 25-21 win in game one.
In game two, the black team evened it up a 1-1 with a 25-23 win.
Moore led the black team with five service points and two aces.
Waters and Billy both had three service points along with Neal. Neal added one dig and one kill in the win.
Guthrie had two service points and one ace and Brundidge had one service point.
For the red team, Brown led with eight service points and one ace followed by Nelson and McCorvey with three service points and Watson had two points.
Nelson had two aces and McCorvey had one followed by two kills.
Watson had one kill in the loss for the red team
Game three: Black 25, Red 20
The black team rallied from an early 4-0 and 5-1 hole to take the third game 25-20 and win the match 2-1.
Neal led with five service points, two aces and two kills and was followed by Guthrie with four service points, one block, and one kill.
Brundidge had three points and Waters and Samuels had one each.
For the red, Nelson and Amber Nelson both had four service points with Elizabeth Nelson having one ace and Amber Nelson having one block.
McCorvey had two kills and Hamric had two service points.
Bostic had one service point.
