Neal volleyball beats Greenville

W.S. Neal’s Lady Eagle volleyball team swept a three-game match from Greenville Tuesday at home to start the season with a win.
W.S. Neal won game one 25-19, game two 25-8, and game three 25-19.
Shelly said one good thing she saw in the win was the Lady Eagle serving.
Game one: W.S. Neal 25,
Greenville 19
After trailing 3-0 early in the game, the Lady Eagles rallied to take a 4-3 lead in the game and then take an 11-5 lead.
W.S. Neal then lead 23-13 before Greenville cut the lead to 23-19, but Casey Wilson ended the game with an ace as W.S. Neal took game one by six points.
Wilson had five service points in the win and two aces and Malary Booker led the team with seven service points.
Amanda Crawford, Megan Pence, Whitney Douglas, and Brittany Revel all had one service point each with Pence having an ace.
Game two: W.S. Neal 25,
Greenville 8
In game two, after trailing 2-0, W.S. Neal jumped out to a 13-4 lead behind service points of Wilson.
Greenville cut the lead to 13-6, 14-7, and 16-8 before Pence ended the game with eight service points to give the Lady Eagles the 17-point win and take a 2-0 lead in the best three-of-five series.
Amanda Crawford had one service point and one kill in the win and Booker had three service points and one ace.
Wilson had five service points with four straight aces and one kill and Douglas had one service point.
Pence had eight straight points with one kill in the win.
Game three: W.S. Neal 25, Greenville 19
In game three, W.S. Neal closed out the match with another six-point win to get their first win of the season.
The game was close early until Booker reeled off five straight service points to give W.S. Neal a 6-2 lead.
After an 11-6 lead, W.S. Neal took a 15-8 lead and a 17-10 lead before Greenville cut the lead to 19-15.
Greenville then cut the Lady Eagle lead to 22-19, but Pence ended the game with two straight points for the Lady Eagles to get the win.
Booker had seven service points with one ace and Wilson had two with three kills.
Crawford had an ace in the win and Revel had three service points. Pence had two in the win.
W.S. Neal will be back in action at home against T.R Miller on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. with JV starting things off followed by the varsity.
