Miss Samantha Dyess, 16, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009. She was a native of Pensacola, Fla., and a resident of Elberta. She was a student at Foley High School where she played on the varsity volleyball team, and she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Donnie Dyess.
She is survived by her mother, Suzanne (Don) Miller of Elberta; her father, David Dyess of Castleberry; a sister, Tiffany (James) Cooper of Orange Beach; her grandparents, Ray and Ann Butler of Repton, and Jane Dyess of Castleberry; one niece, Trinity; and one nephew, Cameron.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 27, at 3 p.m. at Orange Beach United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at a later date. The arrangements were made by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home and Crematory.
