State Rep. Alan Baker and fellow lawmakers had to make difficult decisions during their spring legislative session — cutting supply money for classrooms out of the education budget.
Baker tried to help alleviate some of that burden last week, presenting checks of $1,500 each from his discretionary fund to each school in House District 66.
Baker has stipulated that the money be used for instructional purposes.
School officials were pleased to receive the money.
Pollard-McCall Junior High School Principal Hugh White said the money will “help tremendously.”
