In week two of the AHSAA football season for the T.R. Miller, the Tigers will travel to Cottage Hill Christian Academy for their first road and region game of the year.
T.R. Miller defeated Escambia County last week at home 27-12 to improve to 1-0 while Cottage Hill dropped a 46-13 loss to 1A Linden.
T.R. Miller Tiger head coach Jamie Riggs said that if you can line up and beat a team like Atmore in the first regular season game of the year, you have to feel good about your ability to do that.
Riggs said he was pleased with his team’s effort Friday night in the win over the Blue Devils.
Last season was the first time that T.R. Miller and Cottage Hill had played each other after the Warriors moved up to AHSAA play after years in the AISA.
T.R. Miller won last season in Brewton 48-19.
Daulton Jackson, No. 2, is the Warrior quarterback and No. 7, Trey Cockrell is their best receiver.
Riggs said winning your first region game is obviously better than losing it.
Riggs said his team still has a lot of work to do and will keep working at it.
