Heading into week three of the AHSAA 2009 football season, T.R. Miller will take to the road for their second straight road trip when they take on Bayside Academy this Friday in Daphne.
Bayside Academy is currently 1-1 overall and 1-0 in class 3A region one as they defeated Calhoun last week 52-6.
T.R. Miller, ranked No. 2 in the state, is 2-0 overall and 1-0 in class 3A region one after knocking off Cottage Hill last week 46-21.
T.R. Miller Tiger head coach Jamie Riggs said he saw good and bad in the win last week over Cottage Hill.
Riggs said kicker Wes Dickey had a couple of good kickoffs in the game and got Cottage Hill backed up and the defense got them stopped and made them punt.
Riggs also said another good thing was his team’s blocking.
As for Bayside Academy this week, Riggs said they are a lot like they were last year.
Riggs said the Admirals run a wing-T offense, which poses some problems for the Tigers.
Riggs was also very complimentary of Bayside quarterback, No. 11, Camp Campbell.
As for the defense, Riggs said they will be in some kind of “50-look.”
Game time between T.R. Miller and Bayside is set for 7 p.m. at Bayside.
