Nolen Guinn “Sam” Mitchem|Brewton

Mr. Nolen Guinn “Sam” Mitchem, 74, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, in a Pensacola medical facility after a brief illness. He was a native and former resident of Pensacola, and a long time resident of Brewton. He was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church and retired from Monsanto with 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Kay Mitchem.
He is survived by three daughters, Cyndee (Lamond) Simmons of Brewton, Gwen (Dave) Greene of Sunny Hills, Fla., and Mandee (Randy) Mullinax of Satsuma; two brothers, Daniel Mitchem of Milton, Fla., and Jim Mitchem of Pensacola; three sisters, Cozette Luker of East Brewton, Marie Farho of Lighthouse Point, Fla., and Patsy Salusky of Milton; two grandchildren, Jim Simmons and Peri Lane Mullinax.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 10, at 3 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Yuhasz and the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial followed at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
