In a five-game thriller Thursday night in Brewton, Flomaton rallied to defeat the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball 3-2 to hand the Lady Tigers their first loss of the 2009 season.
The loss dropped T.R. Miller to 5-1 this season.
While the loss was a tough one to swallow for the Lady Tigers, White was complimentary of the crowd in attendance at the game.
T.R. Miller will take on W.S. Neal at home Thursday. The Lady Tigers are doing the “pink” theme again in conjunction with the Miller relay for life team.
T.R. Miller will travel to Atmore Tuesday for a middle school and varsity match.

In varsity action, T.R. Miller won game one 25-11 before falling in game two 25-23 after holding a late 23-21 lead.
In game three, T.R. Miller won 25-18 to take a 2-1 lead over Flomaton, but in game four fell 27-25 after holding an early 9-0, 12-4 and a late 24-21 lead.
In the fifth and final game of the match, with the first team to 15 taking the win, T.R. Miller led 4-1 early in the game. After being down 14-11 they cut the lead to 13-15 but weren’t able to hold on. The team fell 15-13 to suffer their first loss of the season.
Natalie Neal led the Lady Tigers in game one with eight service points, one ace and one kill.
In game two, Janel McCorvey led with five service points, one ace, and two kills. In game three, Taylor Guthrie led with seven service points, one ace.
In game four, Leigh Margaret Bostic led with nine straight service points, two aces, and one kill.
In game five, Elizabeth Nelson led with three service points and one ace.
BMS 2, Flomaton 0
Brewton Middle School defeated Flomaton 25-20 in game one and 25-17 in game two.
Amber Terry had six service points in game one to lead the Lady Tigers with one ace. In game two, Moriah Brundidge led with seven service points with four being aces.
Flomaton 2, T.R. Miller JV 0
The T.R. Miller JV team fell 25-22 in game one and 25-18 in game two.
Amber Nelson led in game one with six service points, one ace, and one kill and in game two, Jerrica Watson had four service points and one kill in the loss.
